Presenting Plays from The Heart of our Mission

Since our inception we've been committed to presenting plays in ways you won't find anywhere else in New Orleans.  Presenting big & hair-raising theatrical works in big & hair-raising theatrical ways is how we keep our audiences (and ourselves) engaged on the edge of our seat.

Comedy is Cutting Edge and Forward Thinking

Mel Brooks famously said "humor is just another defense against the universe," and we couldn't agree more. To us humor is a tool for investigation. By defining the word broadly we create space for work that drives our hardest conversations forward.

A Home for Creative Forces in NOLA

Created in our 2nd season TRB's LAB programming track is devoted to providing time, energy, and resources to new works of non-traditional theater.

In this way TRB wants to be more than just a presenter of work, we want to join a long-standing tradition of artistic cultivators of  performative art in New Orleans.

A Place for Experimentation

Theater and performative arts know no boundaries. It is when space is given to taking risks and trying new things that great work can be made best.

Projects selected for our LAB experiment in a number of ways both in the process of how we create and in the product of what we present.

A Life of Learning Needs a Life of Theater

Too often the theater is cleft in two by the needs of adults or children. With so many current and former educators amongst our collective we couldn't ignore the opportunity to present work that grows the minds and hearts of our city's youngest denizens.

Children's Theater Doesn't Mean Childish Theater

The work presented for our Young Audiences will be as rich, rewarding, dauntless, and enthusiastic as those we present for adults. Theater is a communal event, and what better community is there than family.
