People often believe we call ourselves ‘Radical’ because of the topics we choose and the humorous and risky way we present them, but that’s what makes us ‘Buffoons.’ Rather our devotion to operating intentionally makes us Radical. Our expanded mission statement, our codified values, and our Publicly Accessible Code of Conduct ensure our artists can focus on their creativity without stress or fear.  Uniquely Radical Art is only bolstered by Radical Compassion.

YES. THIS IS THAT LETTER.

Help us raise $5,000 by December 31st!  All funds raised will go directly to the artists we work with. We take pride that artist wages make up the majority of our budgets. Your tax-deductible end-of-year gift allows us to continue working with those who make us stand apart and ensures, no matter what, The Buffoons will thrive.

In five seasons we put out 10 productions (5 original works), welcomed over 1000+ audience members into our spaces, grew to 29 Collective members and worked with 200+ collaborators, and garnered 3 Big Easy Wins from 11 nominations. Your support will make season six even better!

SO MUCH GOOD STUFF TO COME.

“Let’s Talk About It” (LAB, December ‘22) is an amazing off-color podcast, celebrating women as they talk about perceived taboo topics, with two live tapings in December.

“Exit, Pursued by a Bear” (MAINSTAGE, March/April ‘23) is about spousal abuse, male toxicity, and the trauma of poverty that will push our sense of humor and propriety to its limits.

“DreamHouse” (YOUNG AUDIENCES, May ‘23) is a 1-woman clown play with an all-female-identified-production team that will crack open the hearts of young and old.

We also are investing in a final stage of development for And Come Round in Circlean original work examining the links between ghosts and trauma on its way to a world premiere in Season 7.

And lastly, we’ve set equitable pay goals that ensure all participants see an increase in their stipends and salaries each year. Our goal: cement the reality that working with us is more than a hobby or passion, it’s a career.

HELP US GET THERE AND STAY THERE.

Thank you for your support, your good humor, your willingness to trust us, to explore the wildest of works with us. And with great pleasure we say:  see you in the theater.

Yours in Buffoonery,
